As we celebrate Thanksgiving this weekend, while communion with family is invaluable, we must also reflect on the truth of the “holiday” and the mass murder, loss, and fact that natives of this land endured at the hands of the colonists. Rarely do we as a society praise the Indigenous people of this land for their numerous contributions. Rarely do we show our appreciation eventhough we were taught that if not for them, the America as we know would not be possible. Whether we came here by choice or by force, the reality exists that this land was stolen. So, we would like to pay homage…
